We did it! Saw the “A” sites in Hiroshima and Miyajima in 24 hours. While it was a long day and a lot to take in, having the quiet evening at the Ryokan to reflect and rejuvenate made it all worthwhile.

It may just be a higher cost for a cab ride or being told there are no tables available at the café where you hope to dine. But it’s also the pickpockets and scammers in every city in the world.

When thinking about what to pack for a Transatlantic cruise, I factor in more Sea Days and fewer Port Days. But Smart Casual works pretty much the same for both. Jeans or khakis and a button-down or knit top are comfortable both on the ship and off.

We’ve all been there… You’re traveling and want or need to stay connected to the internet, but you’re not sure if it’s safe to use public Wi-Fi. It’s just so tempting…
But to me, using public Wi-Fi feels like walking through a minefield.
That’s why I use a VPN. When you connect to a VPN, all of your traffic is encrypted and sent through a secure tunnel, so you can stay connected to your home network without worrying about who’s listening in.

It’s tough for me to sleep on a plane. There is not just the plane’s noise but the uncomfortable seat you are sitting on and the lights in the cabin.
A long-haul flight can be really exhausting. The time difference, the jetlag, the dry cabin air, and trying to sleep in seats with little support can make sleeping on a plane seem impossible. But it is possible!

The best reason to have Zurich as your home base for 1 week in Switzerland is how easy it is to get from Zurich to almost anywhere else in Switzerland. Interlaken, Basel, Bern, Lucerne … even Geneva is only 2 1/2 hours from Zurich by train.
