Travel is the one thing I love the most. I get excited by planes, trains, and automobiles and all the places those contraptions can take me. The anticipation of a new trip or the memory of a trip from the past can cure most doldrums.
For my birthday this year, I wanted to getaway. I did not want to fly somewhere or take a long drive. I just wanted to not be at home. Because we live in the SF-Bay Area and both grew up in San Francisco, a San Francisco Staycation was the natural go-to.
We finally make it past the crowds and head down towards the lighthouse at Point Bonita. We find a parking space and hike our way down to the lighthouse. The reward for our patience is this lovely, unobstructed view of the Golden Gate Bridge with Alcatraz just peeking out from behind.
